Why you should migrate your LusoCAD settings<\/h2><p>When you install a new major version of LusoCAD (for example, when you move from <strong>LusoCAD 2025<\/strong>\u00a0for the <strong>LusoCAD 2026<\/strong>), the programme is installed with the <strong>default settings<\/strong>:<\/p><ul><li>Standard layout and desktop<\/li><li>Standard fonts and text styles<\/li><li>Standard colours and theme<\/li><li>Standard toolbars and palettes<\/li><\/ul><p>If you've spent time customising your environment, you probably don't want to start all over again with every update. Fortunately, LusoCAD includes integrated tools that allow you to:<\/p><ul><li><strong>Migrate settings from a previous version<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Export<\/strong> the current settings for a file<\/li><li><strong>Import<\/strong> these settings later, for example after updating the build<\/li><\/ul><h2><\/h2><h2>2. Exporting and importing settings when updating a build<\/h2><p>You're not always making the 2025 \u2192 2026 transition; sometimes you're just updating the <strong>build<\/strong> of the same version (for example, updating LusoCAD 2026 from build X to build Y). In these cases, you can use the <strong>Export<\/strong> and <strong>Import<\/strong>.<\/p><p>This is especially useful when:<\/p><ul><li>Install a <strong>patch<\/strong> or <strong>maintenance build<\/strong><\/li><li>Reinstall LusoCAD<\/li><li>Transfer your configuration to another computer (same main version)<\/li><\/ul><h3><\/h3><h3>3.1 Check the current build number<\/h3><p>Before updating:<\/p><ol><li>Open LusoCAD.<\/li><li>Go to the menu <strong>Help<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Click on <strong>About<\/strong>.<\/li><li>In the \u201cAbout\u201d window, you'll see <strong>current build number<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ol><p>If there's a newer build available on the LusoCAD website, it's a good idea to update - but first export your settings.<\/p><h2><\/h2><h2>4. How to export your LusoCAD settings<\/h2><p>Exporting your settings creates a <strong>backup file<\/strong> with your personal configuration. Update your LusoCAD build<\/h2><p>Now that you have your settings safe:<\/p><ol><li>Go to <strong>LusoCAD official website<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Download <strong>latest build<\/strong> for the version of LusoCAD you have installed (for example, the most recent builds of <strong>LusoCAD 2025<\/strong> or <strong>LusoCAD 2026<\/strong>).<\/li><li>Run the installer and follow the steps until the update is complete.<\/li><\/ol><blockquote><p>If you have any problems during installation, you can watch the video dedicated to the installation process on the YouTube channel of <strong>Structural Academy<\/strong>, where the procedure is explained in detail.<\/p><\/blockquote><p>Once the installation is complete, you're ready to import the settings you've saved.<\/p><h2><\/h2><h2>6.
