What is AutoXlsTable?<\/h2>

O AutoXlsTable<\/b> It is an extremely useful tool that assists users in managing Excel tables within the LusoCAD<\/b>. This functionality, which allows for seamless integration between spreadsheets and the CAD environment, was introduced in LusoCAD 2020<\/b><\/a>.<\/p>

With AutoXlsTable, users can easily edit imported Excel tables and keep them automatically updated with the original file. Furthermore, it's possible to perform real-time area and length calculations, among many other functions.<\/p>

How to access AutoXlsTable?<\/h3>

As an Express tool, access is very simple via the Menu: Express > AutoXlsTable<\/b>.<\/p>

In this menu, you will find the options: Create Table<\/b> Create Table, Update table<\/b> (Update Table), Edit Table<\/b> (Edit Table) and Selection Management<\/b> (Selection Management). Expanding the menu will also give you access to Update all tables<\/b> Update All Tables, File Link Management<\/b> File Link Management Path Settings<\/b> (Path Definitions).<\/p>

Step-by-step Tutorial: AutoXlsTable<\/h3>

1. Create Table<\/h4>

  • Menu:<\/b> Express > AutoXlsTable > Create Table<\/p><\/li>

  • Command:<\/b> _CAOT_AUTOXLSTABLE_CREATE<\/code><\/p><\/li><\/ul>

    On clicking Create Table<\/b>, an empty Excel sheet will automatically open. You can enter the data manually or copy and paste content from an existing Excel file. When you're finished, click the button Finish<\/b> no Excel, save the file and, upon returning to LusoCAD<\/b>, specify the insertion point in the drawing.<\/p>

    2. Update Table<\/h4>

    • Menu:<\/b> Express > AutoXlsTable > Update Table<\/p><\/li>

    • Command:<\/b> _CAOT_AUTOXLSTABLE_UPDATETBL<\/code><\/p><\/li><\/ul>

      Use this function to synchronise the table in the drawing with any changes made to the external Excel file. Select the table and it will update automatically.<\/p>

      3. Edit Table<\/h4>

      • Menu:<\/b> Express > AutoXlsTable > Edit Table<\/p><\/li>

      • Command:<\/b> _CAOT_AUTOXLSTABLE_EDIT<\/code><\/p><\/li><\/ul>

        Select the table in LusoCAD<\/b> to open the original file in Excel. After editing, click Finish<\/b>. Upon returning to the CAD environment, the changes will be reflected immediately.<\/p>

        4. Selection Management<\/h4>

        This tool allows you to calculate the areas and lengths of objects. If the dimensions of the objects change, the calculation results in the table are updated automatically.<\/p>

        Example: Calculate the area of a circle and a rectangle:<\/b><\/p>

        1. Create a basic table using the function Create Table<\/b>.<\/p><\/li>

        2. Run the command CAOT_AUTOXLSTABLE_SELECTION<\/code> to open the selection manager.<\/p><\/li>

        3. Create a \u201cNew Group\u201d (e.g., \u201cCircle\u201d), select the object in the drawing, and press Enter. Repeat for the rectangle.<\/p><\/li>

        4. Use the command Edit Table<\/b> to open Excel.<\/p><\/li>

        5. Select the desired cell and use the icon Insertion Function<\/b> to associate the group (Circle or Rectangle) with the cell.<\/p><\/li>

        6. Click on Finish<\/b>. No LusoCAD<\/b>, the table will show the areas. If you apply a command Scale<\/b> In the rectangle, the value in the table will change automatically.<\/p><\/li><\/ol>

          5. Link and Path Management<\/h4>

          • Update All Tables<\/b> Update all table objects in the drawing simultaneously.<\/p><\/li>

          • File Link Management<\/b> Allows managing, attaching, or changing the external Excel file associated with a specific table.<\/p><\/li>

          • Path Settings:<\/b> Defines the path convention (absolute or relative) for Excel files.<\/p><\/li><\/ul>
